The 3×3 warm up/workout

The 3×3, what’s that? Well, the 3×3 is 3 exercises that I’ve been using as a warm up before my sessions for quite a while now. The reason for using these 3 exercises i simple… they deliver and together they find your whole body, with that I mean that they start your whole system in a lot of ways, not just getting warm, they work on joint mobility, mobility, stability, principles from the RKC-system and they also prepare you for the exercises at hand – technically. Gripper enforced irradiation in naked get-ups and other grinds

For a while now I’ve had some problems with my shoulders and i’ve been investing a lot of my time and my training to fix my shoulders and to find ways of doing it… After my trip to St Paul Minnesota where i participated in the RKC II Cert (I’m still not a RKCII, thanks to my injuries). During the tim I spent in St Paul there was a lot of new stuff to me and one of the things where i found some big changes comparing to my RKC in 2006 was the Turkish Get-up. The new version is so good for the whole body, stability, mobility.. you name it and it’s there. (more…)

First session with The Behemoth and boxing

Never got to do any swings with the Behemoth yesterday so I did it this morning instead… I started with sanding down the paint on the handle, all the way to the bare metal (on the inside of the handle where I actually grab the bell). When I got the handle of the bells sanded down good I chalked up my hands and went at it…
The session looked like this
• Swings (60 kg), 1o two hands
• Swings (60 kg), 5 x 5 left hand/5right hand/5 two hands
• Clean (60 kg), 1/1, 5/5, 4/4, 3/3, 2/2, 1/1
Afternoon session was 2 hours of boxing with Besam, had a great time, awesome training and coaching!
All over a good day with sun, good friends, cast iron and leather in my face
