Happy new year all! 2010 is coming

Posted on 31. Dec, 2009 by Tommy Blom in Blog

2009 has been an awesome year and i managed to do so much things that i wanted to do, in my mind my personal understanding for Krav Maga, Kettlebells, functional movement and physical training in general has taken a leap that I didn’t think was possible. The great thing is that they all feed from each other and that that is the key to it all…see the connections, learn more… keep on keepin’ on!

Satisfaction is the death of desire!

I’ve taught Krav Maga in Asia, Europe, Sweden… its been seminars for civilians, instructor courses for the IKMF, education of professional operators in elite units. I have been spending a lot of time with the students of Krav Maga Academy and seen the progress of all the students there… Man it has been a good year, I’m so proud of being able to spread Krav Maga the IKMF way. It is my big passion to spread this system and to help people to defend themselves and feel safer. I started training KM in 1994, became an instructor in 1996 and years now and it just keeps on getting better!

With Kettlebells I’ve started to work more and more in Sweden, I’ve taught seminars around Sweden and it is such a joy to meet people that wants to learn this awesome form of training! Kettlebell training the Hardstyle way of the RKC is Second to none for increasing a persons physical abilities!! I firmly believe it and I’ve been active with Olympic Hand Ball, Krav Maga and other martial arts the last 26 years now. Nothing comes close to the RKC way of training and combined with the FMS it’s unbreakable!

I started teaching/coaching professional fighters in 2209, the fight in MMA, Muay Thai, BJJ and ITF Taekwon-do. They all excelled with great results, a big thank you to Team Tenacity for your efforts!

We managed to arrange a very successful FMS workshop in October, Brett Jones honored us with teaching the Functional Movement Screen, i really hope that we can get more workshops with Brett here, he is an awesome teacher and a really good friend.

I read two books this year that really changed the way I look at life, training and movement.
Born to Run by Christopher McDougall
The 4 hour workweek by Timothy Ferris (a new version is out)

Well, the year has been so active and I cant think of a better year to be used as a launch pad for a new one! i really hop I haven’t forgot anyone/anything.

Some people that gave me a lot of inspiration this year was… all of you! I’m so proud of knowing you all! To work with the professionals inside the IKMF, RKC, FMS and KMA is out of this world!

Thank you all, mentors, teachers, friends, students, family… for a unforgettable 2009!

Las but not least I’d like to express my love and gratefulness to my wife who is standing behind me no matter what, she helps me with everything and gives me strength to keep on keepin’ on… love you!

Happy New Year to all of you, wish you the best of everything in 2010, its starts a new decade, lets make it even better!
