Moving into explosive block

Been teaching and training the last week and it feels great to be back inn the roll again. The Krav Maga is moving on and there is a lot of new people in the continuation groups, rally nice to see them all together with the “old” students.
My own training has been consisting of the double military presses with 24 kg kettlebells, all of them has been in the following format. Double kettlebell presses (24+24 kg) 3 x 2, 2, 2. Each rung started with a double kettlebell snatch and every ladder ended with 5 kettlebell front squats.
Today I moved into the explosive/ballistic block and the following two weeks will consist of ballistic exercises only…
Todays session was this
- Snatch (24 kg), 20+20, 20+20, 20+20, 10+10+10+10, 10+10+10+10+5+5. Time: 10 min
- 1 hand swings (24 kg), 5 x 10+10
- 2 hand swings (24 kg), 2 x 25
- Clean & Jerk (24+24 kg), 5 x 5
Really nice session today, the snatches felt awesome and I didn’t rush them. Havent been snatching for a while so I decided to let the skin in the hands “ease” in to it…
I also decided to try to get back to my previous personal record of 100 48 kg snatches in 52 min (no cork screwing, hard style is the way)… I’ll try the 48 kg snatches in a while and see how they feel, if it feels ok I’ll just add them into my ballistic sessions…
Here’s a really interesting article about kettlebell snatches and calories.
