The Gothenburg Kettlebell seminar – 090215

I want to start this post with a big Thank you to all the people that came out to train! I had a great time and it felt really rewarding to teach all of you! Over all there was 19 people in the seminar, the previous knowledge varied from nothing to already instructor, an awesome mix of people.

For me the seminar started the day before with filling the car with kettlebells before going to sleep. The seminar started at 10:00 so I was in the training place around 09:00 to unload the stuff, unpack it and get ready for the training, some of the participants helped out to unpack and carry the bells, too, thanks for that guys! i brought both my cameras (regular and video) but they never managed to get themselves out of the bag, not even for a group photo 🙁

A few minutes after 10:00 we started the training with some body weight/correctional exercises to lead the students into the trainig with the weights.

The exercises we covered over the day was
• Dead lift
• Swing (1 & 2 hands)
• High pull
• Snatch
• Clean
• Press
• Turkish get-up

Since everyone picked the stuff up fast we managed to do a brief touch of the push-press and the jerk.

During the Tusrkish get-up training 2 of the guys managed to do a TGU with the 40 kg and one of them almost nailed a TGU with “The Beast” (48 kg) to, it was awesome to see! The guy who almost made the 48 kg TGU later told us that he injured his shoulder in an car accident and managed to rehabilitate it with the TGU and windmills.

Imagine that, from broken to a 48 kg TGU (he lost it in the last step on the way down).

Over all I had a great day and really hope that I get to meet more people to train with and share the Hardstyle to, it’s great!

    Riktigt roligt att höra! Träningsvärken är vanlig de första gångerna (lite ovana bara) och dyker upp när man kör länge.

    Michael, var kul att se dig köra med 40 kg och sedan 48 kg, det var inte långt kvar till en komplett TGU. Mycket bra!
    Tack för att ni kom och tränade, mycket trevligt att träffas.
    Hoppas att det blir fler tillfällen!
