The RKC II June 2009

Last Thursday I headed to St Paul, Minnesota to partcipate in the RKC II certification course which is the second step for RKC instructors. The RKC II is more tecnichal, it gives you a deeper understanding of the fundamental moves that is in the regimen of the Russian Kettlebell Challenge by repeating them and by going into details in a deeper way.
On the way to I met up with Master RKC Kenneth Jay on Shipol airport in Holland, except of Kenneth the others who was teaching the course was Pavel Tsatsouline, Andrea Du Cane, Jeff O’Connor, Dave Whitley and they were assisted by Will Williams, Mark Toomey, Sara Cheatham, Franz & Joana Sniderman, Jay Armstrong and Brad Nelson, (sorry if i forgot someone!). John Du Cane worked us through with a morning recharge that starts the body up in an great way.
Except of the techniques that one learns at the RKC, the RKC II adds a set of new techniques, they are; tactical Pullup, the pistol (one legged squat), bent press, windmill (was taught on my RKC cert back in 2006 but has been moved up to the RKC II), jerk and viking push press.
The windmill and the the get up has been modified a bit since I learned them the first time and they really serve their purpouse even more now than before, they are much more demanding and targeted to what they are suposed to do for the trainee.
The techniques taught in this cert is making the RKC-system even more of a system and really makes the job as a trainer/coach so much more rewarding and interesting.
I must say that the experience of meeting all the people that I knew from before and all the people that I didn’t know from before was absolutely awesome, couldn’t have spent that weekend in a better way. All the training and the community around it…
Unfortunately I went home without my RKC II Certificate, I need to clear my press to certify as an RKC II so now I know what I’ll be training on as soon as the shoulders say it’s ok…
Here’s some pictures from the cert.

No sweat! You´ll fix the press.
Looks like Adam T Glass. Did he do some gripping and ripping? Nice T-shirts by the way. Are they up for sale?
Regards
