The 3×3 warm up/workout
Posted on 26. Nov, 2009 by Tommy Blom.
The 3×3, what’s that? Well, the 3×3 is 3 exercises that I’ve been using as a warm up before my sessions for quite a while now. The reason for using these 3 exercises i simple… they deliver and together they find your whole body, with that I mean that they start your whole system in a lot of ways, not just getting warm, they work on joint mobility, mobility, stability, principles from the RKC-system and they also prepare you for the exercises at hand – technically. FMS, The Stick and coaching
Posted on 19. Nov, 2009 by Tommy Blom.
Been on a diet of no training for a while, to much work and not enough time to get time to train myself. It’s boring not to be able to train but really developing for me as a coach/instructor. Teaching Krav Maga and Kettlebells is getting more and more inspiring as the days goes by. Not being able to go all out myself I have been focusing on understanding the movement patterns in all the stuff I do.
To me the two feed of each other, both in in inspiration, energy, mentality and functionality. The movement patterns in a lot of the moves is basically the same or very similar. (more…)

Jumping pull-ups, presses, Krav Maga
Posted on 13. Oct, 2009 by Tommy Blom.
Yesterday was a good day in training, I managed to do a new exercise for me, the jumping pull-up. The Jumping pull-up is a pull-up where you jump from one bar to another, I guess the bars at the center is about 70 cm apart (judge it yourself in the video).
Ok, so over the day I did about 20 military presses with 32 kg on the right arm and the same on amount with 24 kg on the left arm, this was done at home before going to the club.
Second session was done at the gym at Fighter Centre where ther is a rack with some different bars (you’ll see it in the movie). In that session I did some more pressing, some body weight pull-ups and then I tried the jumping pull-ups, it took a few tries but then I managed to do them (I think I did between 6-10 of them yesterday).
After that it was time to teach Krav Maga at to the advanced group at www.kravmagaacademy.se. We started with some slow fighting, went straight into light boxing sparring, after that light sparring and then finished the whole session of with kettlebell swings and pad-work.
Here’s the video of the jumping pull-ups, I filmed it this morning before teaching kettlebells at Tenacity – Courage Corner… last thing before leaving the center today was Team Tenacity where we worked on… that’s right… kettlebells.
